General Discussion / Re: 2019 Wild Card Round
« on: October 10, 2019, 06:27:59 PM »
Talk about unfortunate sequencing of the hits given up, 6 of 8, the sole walk and all runs came in 2 innings. But then again one really does need to hit and score runs to win a ballgame.

Good luck to the remaining teams!

Thanks Marlin. That's what I was thinking but just needed to make sure. Now I just need to go in and check which guys are actually eligible.

For the 25 man playoff rosters, does it matter whether they have options, guaranteed contracts, etc? i.e. can I leave someone off without passing through waivers if they have no options left (and assuming I have someone else that meets the above criteria to fill their spot).

Ha, I had a very similar dilemma and chose to sit Berrios. By far my most likely scenario was having to play the WC game so i wanted to have my #1 guy ready for that. My preseason goal was to make things interesting as far into the playoff hunt as possible, and I guess we achieved that and then some. ;D

Best of luck to all those still playing!

Wow after loosing 5 straight series, including 2, 4 game series, we really needed to turn things around. Pitching and bats both really came through this week.

I can't shake Minnesota.  Its going to be a dog fight all season long.

And quite interesting how close our respective teams are performing overall. You're noticeably outperforming my pitching but offense & defense pretty much a wash. I think your depth in pitching, especially in the pen, will perhaps be the difference maker. My entire offense continues to be essentially from 4 main players (Merrifield, Escobar, Hicks & Sano). And certainly can't rule out KC. They're obviously better than their results show.

Definitely playing well beyond my high end expectations.

Although our offence looks impressive at first glance at the stats, it's really by 4 guys. Hicks, Merrifield, Escobar & Sano. Those guys are crushing it. The rest of the line-up is, meh.
