MLBSA 2019 Week 1 - Resim - Again
« on: May 05, 2019, 10:53:17 PM »
It has been uploaded.  This is the last re-sim I will do for this week, period.

I'm moving the deadline back to Wednesday 11:59 PM EST, with the Sim to be ran on Thursday.

File to be uploaded shortly.

From 2-1, to 3-0 with a perfect game, to 1-2.

Stupid.

I agree. From 2-2, to 4-0, to 1-3.

Not super happy.

Very few things hurt the credibility of a league more than re-simming games, let alone multiple times.

Just read through the original re-sim thread.  Still unsure why the re-re-sim took place.  Did we really sim over a perfect game from Alex Wood simply because one single GM didn't check to make sure Blake-Friggin'-Snell was on his roster for a week?

Cripes.

Well, sim # 3 did provide a Mike Clevinger no hitter in his MLBSA and Nationals debut.

It also hurts the league when the season is beginning, and teams can't check their own rosters for mistakes BEFORE the sim, don't turn in an MP and DC, and then dump it on the EC to make decisions.

If everyone checked their rosters, and sent in DCs or MPs, the mistakes would've been caught ahead of time, but instead the EC is put in a tough position to make a decision, no matter what it is, that is sure to upset someone.

This is an issue we will address in the offseason, and from here on out re-sims will only happen in very extreme cases.  Any errors not caught before a sim will be taken care of before the following sim.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.  Not every decision is going to be met with 100% support, and at times we're put into a no win situation.

Onto week two!

This was a no-win situation of your own making.  If someone doesn't send in a depth chart or MP file then a short roster is on them.  100%.  There never should have been a 1st re-sim, let alone a second.

Nah, I get the 1st one. It was an illegal roster, PLUS injuries weren't turned on. Both of those can impact the whole league.

The 2nd one was dumb. I couldn't care less about the perfect game or what my record was, but it was 100% on the owner and was not an illegal roster, therefore it shouldn't have impacted the rest of the league. In all honesty, it opens it up to the idea that some on the EC may not have been happy with the results of the 1st resim.

I mean, it's on US to check our rosters, right? It's been said time and again. I checked my roster carefully, as I've learned that this EC does not give 2nd chances. Yet, someone didn't, and he gets a redo. Did I get a redo with the bid on David Robertson? Did a couple owners get a redo on the Rule V lists? How is this different?

If you want to be strict rule-followers who follow the rules to a "T," then cool, do that. But don't pick and choose when you do. You gotta be consistent.

I'll leave you with this.  You guys make a fair point, and understand not everyone on the EC was in agreement either.  We're doing our best to appease the masses, but no matter the decision, someone will always end up on the wrong end of it.

Its week 1.  4 games out of 162 for most teams.  We will continue to do the best we possibly can, but it won't always be the popular decision.
