Thrilling Win Pushes Detroit to Next Round
The championship aspirations of the Detroit Tigers remain alive, while the Chicago White Sox are now left wondering what could have been.

With a 7-1 win at Comerica Park, Detroit has advanced through the Wild Card Game and on to the Division Series.

Max Scherzer was instrumental in the win, earning MVP honors, as he tossed 6.1 innings, with 12 strikeouts, while allowing 3 hits, 2 walks and 1 run.

"I tried not to put any pressure on myself, even though I knew how big a game it was," he told reporters after the win. "I can't wait to get back on the mound in the next series."

The Detroit Tigers will play against the Kansas City Royals in the next round. Kansas City had a bye in the Wild Card Game. The Division Series is scheduled to begin on October 7th , 2021.
