Mariners Beat Marlins in World Series
Thursday, November 4th , 2021
The Seattle Mariners were good enough to get past the Miami Marlins at T-Mobile Park today and secure the 1st championship in franchise history.

"When you wear Mariners on your shirt, you're good at something," Seattle skipper Dan F told the press.

Mariners first baseman Mitch Moreland was named MVP of the series after he went .333 with 3 home runs and 7 runs batted in.

"It feels totally incredible," Moreland said. "I could live to 1,000 years old and I'd remember this moment."

The new champions capped off a great season with a 3-0 victory over the Marlins to win the World Series 4-3.

Padres Star Wrecks One-Of-A-Kind Car
Tuesday, November 2nd , 2021
San Diego star Felix Pena is known for his hard-driving play on the field, but after what happened this week, he should probably drive a little more carefully on the roads.

The star reliever was driving late at night on a winding road and smashed right into a highway barrier. He escaped with only scrapes and bruises and is listed as day-to-day, but the bigger injuries are to his wallet and his pride--the car, which was completely totaled, was a custom-built luxury Rolls Royce valued at half a million dollars.

He angrily declined to take questions as he limped out of an San Diego-area hospital last night, but his publicist released the following statement: "Felix is happy to be home with his family, and knows how lucky he is to have escaped nearly unhurt. He will be more careful in the future, and he knows that cars, unlike people, can always be replaced."

Maybe so, but if he wants to be able to replace this one, he may need to drive a hard bargain when he next comes to the negotiating table.
