Deichmann Honored, 2021 AA S Most Valuable Player Award

Greg Deichmann took Double-A South by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 26.
For his spectacular campaign, the Tennessee Smokies star has been named the 2021 Double-A South Most Valuable Player Award recipient.
"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the first baseman.
On the season he compiled a .312 batting average to go with a .416 on-base percentage. The native of Metairie, Louisiana also added 21 doubles, 1 triple, 24 home runs, 70 RBIs and 61 runs scored.
He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Rhett Wiseman of the Tennessee Smokies finished second in voting, while Jermaine Palacios of the Tennessee Smokies finished third.

Smokies Anderson, Outstanding Pitcher Award Winner

When the name of Drew Anderson appeared on the Tennessee lineup card in 2021, it was a virtual guarantee of a victory or at least a well-pitched game. For his brilliant performance this season he was named the Double-A South Outstanding Pitcher Award winner today.
He started 36 games, running up a 3-4 record and a 3.05 ERA. Anderson held opponents to a .218 average while striking out 76, walking 24 and allowing 78 hits in 97.1 innings of work.
He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner.
