At the age of 25, Nick Plummer of the Lakeland Flying Tigers could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2021 was good enough to win the center fielder the Low-A Southeast Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .245 batting average this year, as well as a .367 on-base percentage. He played 99 games and racked up 75 hits, 17 doubles, 2 triples, 15 home runs, 45 RBIs and 37 runs scored.
He received 5 first place votes out of a possible 10. Justin Lopez of the Lakeland Flying Tigers finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Drew Waters of the Lakeland Flying Tigers finished third with 2 first place votes.
